Dear Parish Family
First and foremost, please take care of yourselves. Sadly, when the support of gathering as a faith community is most needed, we are isolated from one another. The Communication Committee is contacting everyone on the parish list to make sure all is well and if our church volunteers can be of assistance. We have no idea how long this will last but we need to make sure we did our best to maintain the health of our community. We also need to especially pray for those on the front lines of our health care system and those who must work with the public because they have been designated as an essential service.
For your spiritual support, I will be ramping up the use of our Web site and Facebook pages. Other ways of bringing church to you are being worked on. Unfortunately, most of these require a computer or cell phone with video capability. While you wait for St. George’s to bring visual worship to you, please take advantage of the Diocesan web site (www.toronto.anglican.ca) which has several church services and videos and messages from our Diocesan Bishop to watch. Although it is not the same, it is a means to sharing the hope we have in Jesus Christ. Take this time to dig deep into your faith. I have suggested options such as Lectio 365 (an App – free) to quiet your heart and mind so the peace of Christ can fill you with the strength of the spirit.
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice! “
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4,6-7
As always, I am just a call away (705-726-8121).
God be with you. Stay calm and pray on.
